[Tour Overview]
Goishizan, the 2nd temple of the Shodoshima Pilgrimage, is a scenic mountain sanctuary that embodies the essence of a sacred mountain site. At the main hall, Hououku (Phoenix Cave), where the principal deity Namikiri Fudō Myōō is enshrined, a Goma Prayer Ritual is conducted daily. The flickering flames of the Goma fire and the echoing chants of sutras create a mystical atmosphere, transporting visitors to a spiritual realm far removed from the mundane world.
From the temple path, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Uchiumi Bay and the Harima-nada Sea, offering one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the Seto Inland Sea. The magnificent scenery is sure to relieve the fatigue of your pilgrimage.
Led by the temple's chief priest, this tour provides an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the Shodoshima pilgrimage and appreciate the stunning landscape of Uchiumi Bay and Tanoura Peninsula.
